Owned and operated by Chef Donald Link, with Rebecca Wilcomb as Chef de Cuisine, Herbsaint serves French-Southern cuisine in a lively, festive and casually elegant atmosphere. When speaking with fellow foodies regarding their favorite New Orleans restaurants, Herbsaint will more than likely be a part of the conversation. It’s well-known for its consistency in providing high-quality food, utilizing locally-grown ingredients through their partnership with regional farmers and fishermen. During our last visit, we dined on Baked Asiago with Oregano and Lemon with a lagniappe serving of Gnocchi with Pancetta, Preserved Lemon and Parmesan (server mistakenly delivered our neighbor’s appetizer to our table), followed by a Grilled Tuna Sandwich on Olive Bread with Lemon Pickle Aioli and Grilled Zubaton Steak with Sea Salt, Olive Oil and French Fries. Due to the appetizer mishap and close proximity of the tables, we struck up a wonderful conversation with a delightful couple sitting at the table next to us, who were visiting the city from Olive Branch, Mississippi. By the end of the conversation, contact info had been exchanged! The laid-back atmosphere of New Orleans often lends itself to encounters such as this!
