Such a fitting name for this eating establishment! You are guaranteed to bring upon yourself a delicious dining experience! Opening its doors in August of 2018 under the direction of owner and Executive Chef Eric Cook (formerly of Commander’s Palace, Tommy’s Cuisine, American Sector and Bourbon House), Gris Gris has been wowing its guests with traditional New Orleans cuisine served in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

If you’re lucky enough to snag a seat at the “Chef’s Table” on the first floor, you’ll be fascinated watching Cook run the inner-workings of his fine-tuned kitchen operation. The staff appeared to be having fun under the direction of the respectful yet get-down-to-business executive chef. Cook is also quite engaging with his guests as he personally presents each dish along your culinary journey. You also have the added benefit of watching dishes being plated prior to deciding on your own personal menu selections. Other seating options include a second-floor dining room and large bar, as well as, beautiful patio seating.

Personal favorite dishes include the Oyster BLT (basically a deconstructed BLT accompanied by fried oysters—awesomeness!!), Pork Belly and Watermelon (a strange, but perfectly-suited combination), Cast Iron Seared Fish and Shrimp (served with fresh zucchini and squash-somewhat healthy alternative) and the Creole Redfish Court-Bouillon (a whole creole-fried redfish served with a deliciously rich tomato sauce, popcorn rice and a charred lemon half).  Complete your meal with one of the three dessert options: bread pudding, a creamy praline pecan pie or a slice of the chocolate cheesecake.

Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations are highly recommended. Private dining and event space is available in the Samedi Room, a two-floored area showcasing a private kitchen, private bathroom, private balconies and a beautiful wooden 12 seat capacity dining table. Check out the restaurant’s website for pics!
